Mateo grew up in Queens and started drawing portraits and lettering long before tattooing became his trade. He still keeps a small paper sketchbook for subway rides and often starts large compositions with loose pencil shapes before moving to more detailed design work.
Lena focuses on fineline, botanical, illustrative, and color-driven work. Raised in northern New Jersey and based around New York for most of her adult life, she has a habit of photographing plants, old signage, and architectural details around the city to study shapes and color combinations.
Devin handles piercing appointments and helps keep client communication organized before larger tattoo projects. A Bronx native, he is known on the team for staying calm with nervous first-timers and for keeping detailed notes so clients do not have to repeat the same project information every time they reach out.
We begin with the reason behind the project and then work outward into style, scale, placement, references, and scheduling. Mateo, Lena, and Devin each have different responsibilities, but information is kept consistent so clients are not passed around without context.
We also believe a client should be able to understand a recommendation. If we suggest changing the size, simplifying part of a design, moving an element, or dividing a project into sessions, we explain what that change solves. The final decision should feel informed rather than pressured.
