Lantern Tattoo

Dorothy Lyczek runs Lantern Tattoo in Brooklyn, where she tattoos by appointment only. Her custom work centers on botanical, floral and natural themes, drawn in a realistically illustrative style and infused with an imaginative take on the natural world. She often sizes botanicals close to their natural scale to keep the detail, and the portfolio includes magnolia, hibiscus, peony, lotus and herb designs. She comes from a background in painting and also paints. Her designs range from a single flowering herb to a riot of forest plants and creatures. Consultations are arranged by email with the artist. The shop is owned by women and by LGBTQ owners, and it welcomes LGBTQ clients as a transgender safe space. No hours are posted. Rated 5.0 from 9 Google reviews, all five stars.
